PFS & CII Teams Session - Mental Health at Work: Recognising Conditions and Supporting Wellbeing
Session Overview:
With 1 in 4 people in England experiencing a mental health problem in England every year, mental health is an important issue. How much do you know? Would you be able to spot early warning signs? Would you know how to have a conversation with someone, whether that’s a friend, or colleague in the workplace?
Mental health is often invisible and despite increases in conversations about it in the media, it still remains a difficult issue to discuss for those who experience it.
Learning objectives
In this session, we will cover:
- What mental health is, common signs and symptoms, early warning signs and risk factors, and mental health statistics
- How to have a conversation with someone and signpost them to appropriate support
- Creating a mental health friendly workplace and employers’ responsibilities
