CII & PFS-Interactive Training-You need to learn CPR
Venue: The Exminster Room, Exeter Court Hotel, Kennford, Exeter, EX6 7UX
Session Overview:
CPR is an emergency lifesaving procedure, performed when the heart stops beating, often called a cardiac arrest. It is necessary to save the life of someone in cardiac arrest.
Each year over 30,000 people have an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest in the UK. Less than 1 in 10 survive. Giving CPR promptly and using a defibrillator can more than double someone’s chance of survival.
That’s why British Heart Foundation exists. Funding research is how they change the game. The BHF fund over £100 million of lifesaving research into heart and circulatory diseases each year . We all have a role to play. The tools we have at our disposal today - from heart transplants and pacemakers to stents and portable defibrillators - are all down to research. Research made possible by people like you.
Join us on the 16th September for an interactive session on how to perform CPR and how to use a Defibrillator.
Learning objectives
Areas discussed during the session will include:
- Understand who the BHF are and what they can do to help the British public.
- Know how to perform CPR after a short hands-on session.
- Be aware of how to use a defibrillator.

I lost my mum 23 years ago to a heart attack, being able to help fund research that could save other peoples mums means so much to me”
