Introducing the Qualification Mentoring Scheme
Studying towards your Advanced Diploma in Insurance (ACII) or Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning (APFS)? Recently qualified and keen to help others achieve the same? Join us on 4 December to find out more!
Our Qualification Mentoring Scheme will soon be entering the third year of a pilot phase and we will shortly be recruiting new Mentees and 'Buddy Mentors'. 40 Mentee places and 12 Buddy Mentor places are available (eight Mentee and two Buddy Mentor places are for financial planners).
Studying can be a lonely and confusing experience. It can be daunting to study on top of a busy job and active social life. Some find the array of subjects confusing when it comes to deciding the order in which to take them, others find the step up from Certificate to Diploma level bigger than they were expecting, and members can also struggle due to lack of employer support. This scheme aims to provide Mentees motivation, via a peer group, led by a Buddy Mentor - someone who has recently qualified themselves so has fresh first-hand experience of the challenges faced.
Don't miss this opportunity to find out more about the scheme from those in the know, including:
- Stuart Clarke FCII, Chair, Qualification Mentoring Committee (Head of Technical Claims, Hiscox)
- Dipak Warren ACII, Advocate Mentor (Previously Chief Underwriting Officer, Mitsui Sumitomo Syndicate and Aviva Corporate Risk Solutions)
- Timothy Nash ACII, Buddy Mentor (Vice President, Marsh)
- Esme Gould, Mentee (Underwriter, Zurich Insurance)
The scheme programme includes five educational, motivational and social events a year, some of which will provide networking opportunities with our 'Advocate Mentors' who hold senior positions in the market. Participants must be members of the Insurance Institute of London and committed for a three year period. During the initial pilot phase, there is no charge to participate.
Please do let us know what we can do to make this event fully accessible to you.
